Daya proteksi minyak atsiri bunga kenanga (Cananga odorata ) dalam sediaan lotion antinyamuk terhadap Aedes aegypti

Berbagai alternatif telah dilakukan untuk menghambat populasi nyamuk Aedes aegypti penyebab penyakit demam berdarah, diantaranya penggunaan lotion antinyamuk yang mengandung DEET. Untuk mengurangi resiko dan dampak negatif dari DEET, maka salah satu upaya pemanfaatan minyak atsiri kenanga (Cananga odorata) sebagai repellent atau alami. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui rendemen bunga kenanga, menganalisis konsentrasi pada sediaan memberikan daya proteksi tertinggi terhadap gigitan Ae. aegypti, tingkat kesukaan probandus formulasi lotion, ada tidaknya sensitivitas setelah memakai kenanga. Minyak penelitian diperoleh dengan cara destilasi uap selanjutnya digunakan agen dalam lotion. Rata-rata tiga kali ulangan diikuti standar deviasi (SD) adalah 0,63% ± 1,38 b/b. Daya F3 5%. Lotion jam pertama sebesar 96,3%, kedua 92,3%, ketiga 87% menurun sampai keenam menjadi 75%. Formulasi paling disukai oleh kandungan sebanyak 5% Setelah pemakaian tidak kesan lengket dikulit adanya gejala sensitivitas.
